Have you ever been able to effectively pitch your organization in an elevator? Probably not. But that doesn’t change the fact that every volunteer wants an “elevator pitch”. What they are actually asking for is help. The help to develop their own story and the help to know and share the two or three organizationally approved talking points that should be communicated to all individuals not familiar with your organization. Make sure your volunteers are trained up to share why your organization is important to them and to deliver the two to three most important talking points you’d want every new person to know about you.
