In honor of Independence Day, we share with pride that Americans are uniquely generous. It’s in our DNA to give and to want to be helpful. More than 90% of us volunteer and more than 60% of us give to charity. Benjamin Franklin, considered by some the founder of American philanthropy, recognized that “money never made a man happy yet, nor will it” and “who is rich? He that rejoices in his portion.”
